Well we did arrive in Bali some 7 hours delayed!! The resort is lovely but I am disappointed with the apartment. It's very faded and dingy. Yesterday we had a rat behind the TV! To quote Brian "what a to do" those of you who know Brian knows he never says "what a to do" his language tends to be a tad stronger! The rat got behind kitchen units and these giant cockroaches came rushing out which Brian kept whacking with his large Jeeves and Wooster book! We have now been moved and all though the apartment is the same it's different cleaner and fresher...still has rubbish balcony mind!! We seen some spectacular storms whilst here but yesterday it rained all day!! Today looks more promising! Plus today I learnt I am expecting a grand daughter so can go and buy some pink!!
We thought Perth was a great little town. Love the free bus service!! Public transport in Australia is just fab!!! Yesterday we took train out to Fremental and enjoyed lunch down at the keys. Last night we took in a fringe comedy act "Australia: a whinging Poms guide!" It was really good fun! Now I have just learnt plane to Bali has been delayed 6 hours so we are staying in hotel room until 11 and I am wrestling with this blog!!
Oh wow!! Gracie's friend Mellissa what can I say. A BQ for Australia Day with a swim in mother-in-laws pool!
Really liked Adelaide! Visited the wine centre, immigration museum, got caught in a storm and run over by a bicycle! Best but was seeing Steve and Sue Hunt who I worked with at Littlemore hospital. The took us to Port Elliot and we visited winerys, and sat on the balcony catching up!!! Fab! Still really struggling with the blog so do go visit my face book page and you can see all our photos their organised into albums. I having big problems doing this blog with the photos in the way I wanted as the WIFI connections in the hotels are very weak! Anyway we are coming to the end of the stay in Melbourne where we have had a fab time..visiting friends out in Marysville was just amazing. We visited a winery and had lunch at a cider/beer tasting restaurant...what's not to like? I mentioned I still hadn't seen a roo in the wild so we went to see some friends of theirs where we had a BQ and watched the Roos come to a pond on their land. We returned via the Stevenson falls all illuminated! The next day we trained back to Melbourne and today we have boated to Williamsen and pootled around there. Tomorrow we are of to Adelaide.
Now that's more like it!! Looks like a great city. It's very busy as people arrive for the tennis open!! Keeping my eye out for Murray!!Well we found Camberra a funny old place. Very quite, clean and organised. Glad we came but not a great city to visit!
We have had a fab time in Sydney. We went to Wyong to meet Brian's cousin Eileen and to Manly to see my Friend Anne and then last night we met Brian's friend Greg in a Thai restaurant. The visit to the blue mountains, featherdale wildlife park and scenic world was awesome! Had a great tour of the opera house before being evacuated because of a bomb scare. The temperature went from 41' to 21' in a split second and ensueing storm just about blew us off Pyrmont bridge!
